For Mild Acne - to unclog pores, or to kill bacteria associated with acne:
Anti-inflammatory, anti-comedonal skincare products such as suitable toners and moisturisers
For Moderate to Severe Acne – anti-inflammatory effect, regulation of hormonal levels to decrease oil production and reduce severity of acne:
Oral antibiotics, prescription-only creams such as topical retinoids, chemical peels, oral retinoids, or hormonal treatment in combination with contraceptive pills.

Treat Acne Scars Early
Acne scar treatment is best started only after the acne has been brought under control, with no new outbreaks.
Many laser treatments and minor skin procedures are available for sunken or raised scars, depending on the subtype. These include:
- Subcision
- Chemical peels
- Filler injections
